about
Long time label associate David Douglas returns to Atomnation with a new single, titled "Come Alive". He first appeared on the Dutch imprint in 2012 and now returns with a cinematic, deeply melodic dance cut with vocals that send shivers down your spine.
David is a consistently high quality and prolific producer who has put out key albums like Moon Observations and Spectators Of The Universe, as well as EPs Mountain Pink and Royal Horticultural Society. He finds inspiration in the majesty of the cosmos and the grandeur of nature and manages to capture the essence of that in his music and his productions have led to critical acclaim from esteemed outlets like Pitchfork, 3voor12, and XLR8R.
‘Come Alive’ is a bubbling metropolis of otherworldly sonics with Douglas transporting listeners into his own realm of sonic exploration throughout. Pillared by perfectly crafted, fierce and brooding synth-work, the track is driven along by firm kicks with the breathtaking ethereal vocals working their way into the mix alongside anxious oscillating melodies.
Percussion like the creaking of the forest, momentum like the flow of rivers, voices and strings echoing across mountain ranges - everything here coheres wonderfully into a sonic representation of wild landscapes. Perimeter is straight up euphoric. josh epps
Atomnation label has so much talent in their stable, it starts with 1 compilation and then how can you resist going for the whole collection which offers a wide range of electro music. Great album nr 2020. jef37
The latest LP from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs focuses on subtle (and varied) pop songcraft over big room dancefloor-fillers. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 12, 2022
